Canada's Large Pension Funds Make Smarter Investments Through Cost Savings


Canada's banks weathered the financial crisis much, much better than their U.S. counterparts.  As another example of how our northern neighbors' financial conservatism is admirable -- and, over the long term, higher-performing -- here's an interesting Economist article about how Canada's large pension funds are making smarter investments through cost savings:  "[r]unning operations directly helps plug 'the incredible leakage that goes out through fees' to pricey external managers ... ."
